Walbrand Properties Student Housing Storage Facilities

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Walbrand Storage facilities and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of such modifications.

2. Service Description

2.1 Storage Service

Walbrand Properties provides secure, climate-controlled storage units designed specifically for Student Housings and other individuals. Our facilities feature 24/7 surveillance, climate control, individual locks, and trained security personnel.

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a valid Student Housing at a recognized educational institution to book storage. Valid Student Housing identification and university registration number are required during the booking process.

Upon successful payment, you will receive a booking confirmation via email containing your booking reference, unit details, payment receipt, and access instructions.

4. Payment Terms

4.1 Payment Methods

We accept secure payment via M-Pesa. All transactions are encrypted and secured.

4.2 Timing of Payment

Full payment (storage fee + deposit) is due before your storage unit becomes active. For subsequent bookings, only the monthly rental is charged (no additional deposit).

4.3 Late Payment

If payment is not received by the agreed date, access to your storage unit may be suspended. After 30 days of non-payment, Walbrand Properties reserves the right to re-lease the unit and charge storage for unclaimed items.

4.4 Invoicing

A detailed invoice will be provided to your email address immediately upon payment. Monthly reminders will be sent 14 days before renewal.

5. Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited in storage units:

Important: Walbrand Properties reserves the right to inspect storage units if prohibited items are suspected. Violation of this policy may result in immediate booking termination and legal action.

6. Liability and Insurance

6.1 Liability Limitations

While we maintain 24/7 surveillance and secure facilities, Walbrand Properties is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to stored items except as expressly covered by optional insurance. We recommend customers obtain personal insurance for valuable items.

6.2 Insurance Coverage

Optional insurance coverage is available at KSh 200 per month with maximum coverage of KSh 100,000 per booking. Insurance does not cover loss or damage due to prohibited items, pests, or natural disasters not caused by facility negligence.

6.3 Damage Responsibility

You are responsible for properly packing and securing your items to prevent damage during storage. Climate-controlled environments protect against temperature and humidity extremes, but proper packing is essential.

7. Access and Security

7.1 Access Hours

Most facilities operate 24/7. Specific access hours will be communicated upon booking confirmation. After-hours access may be available upon request with prior notice.

7.2 Security Procedures

Access requires valid identification and booking reference. We maintain security logs of all access. Unauthorized entry is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

7.3 Lock Requirements

You must provide your own padlock or use our provided security systems. Walbrand Properties is not responsible for items left unlocked or with compromised locks.

8. Cancellation and Refunds

8.1 Cancellation Policy

8.2 Deposit Refund

Your deposit (first month's rental) will be refunded within 5 business days of providing written cancellation notice (for active bookings with proper notice), provided your unit is returned in good condition and all fees are settled.

8.3 Refund Processing

All refunds are processed via M-Pesa to the phone number provided during booking. Allow 5-7 business days for refunds to appear in your account.

9. Pickup Services

9.1 Optional Pickup Service

For an additional KSh 500, Walbrand Properties will collect your items from your location and transport them to our facility. Schedule pickup at least 48 hours in advance.

9.2 Delivery Service

Upon completion of your storage period, we offer delivery services for KSh 500. Items will be delivered to an address agreed upon during the booking or pickup scheduling phase.

9.3 Scheduling

Pickup and delivery must be scheduled in advance via our booking system or by contacting our support team. Failure to be available for scheduled pickup/delivery may result in additional charges.

10. Storage Duration and Pickup

10.1 Storage Duration

Storage duration is calculated from your start date to your end date. Extensions can be requested anytime from your dashboard or by contacting our support team.

10.2 Pickup Date

All items must be collected by the end date specified in your booking. Items not collected by this date will be subject to late storage charges of KSh 500 per day.

10.3 Extended Storage

If items remain in storage after 30 days beyond the scheduled end date, Walbrand Properties reserves the right to dispose of items and charge applicable storage fees and disposal costs.

We aim to respond to all inquiries within 2 hours during business hours (8 AM - 6 PM EAT) and within 24 hours for emergency requests outside business hours.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes shall be resolved through:

  1. Direct negotiation between the parties
  2. Mediation through Walbrand Properties management
  3. Arbitration under Kenyan law

14. Privacy and Data Protection

Personal information provided during booking is protected in accordance with Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019. We will not share your information with third parties except as necessary to provide our services (payment processing, delivery services, etc.).

15. Limitation of Liability

Walbrand Properties' total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for services during the booking period. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

16. Changes to Terms

Walbrand Properties reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of new terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya. Both parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of Kenyan courts.
